Patients set to receive care at new state-of-the-art emergency care village complex at Bassetlaw Hospital
Teal Healthcare has equipped a brand-new state-of-the-art facility at Bassetlaw Hospital with its specialist healthcare furniture, as part of the phased transition of urgent, acute, and paediatric services at the hospital. Designed to improve the patient environment the new facility is part of a drive to enhance healthcare services for communities across Bassetlaw and North Nottinghamshire
The £7.6m contract to build a new Emergency Care Village for Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (DBTH) starts the transition of paediatric, urgent and acute services, ensuring that for the first time, all emergency assessment facilities are now in one place.
Following a comprehensive consultation process the scheme was designed with due consideration for comfort and neurodiversity, with construction partners, clinicians and the local community involved in years of careful planning.
The Hospital’s Acute Medical Unit (AMU), Major and Resuscitation services within the Emergency Department (ED) and Children’s Assessment Unit (CAU) have all moved into the new building.
The new Children’s Assessment Unit benefits from Teal’s Astra Galaxy bedside recliners, ensuring family members can sit and relax comfortably next to their child’s bed, while Affiniti bedside lockers ensure safe storage of medication and patient valuables.
The waiting area within the Emergency Department features Adeo beam seating, co-ordinating beautifully with the feature wall, with its eye-catching bespoke floral artwork helping to create a welcoming and uplifting experience. Adeo is particularly suited to high traffic waiting and outpatient areas with its comfortable soft PU seats and in-built anti-bacterial technology helping clinicians to maintain hygiene levels.
The complex is located directly in front of the Hospital’s main entrance and delivers a more efficient patient flow throughout the hospital, helping to improve the patient experience, while also enhancing the environment for healthcare professionals in the delivery of care.
